Ten:10 Property Solutions develops and manages supported housing in Exeter, working in partnership with local authorities and support organisations to provide safe, stable accommodation for individuals experiencing homelessness. From the outset, the intention was not simply to acquire property, but to invest in homes that would stand up to daily use while offering residents dignity and comfort.
When Ten:10 undertook the refurbishment of its two houses, the priority was comprehensive renovation rather than superficial improvement. Both properties were refurbished to a good standard, with comfortable bedrooms and particular attention was given to kitchens and bathrooms, the most heavily used spaces in supported accommodation.
One shower room, for example, needed new joists before it could be totally refurbished. The upgrades were designed for durability and ease of maintenance. Kitchens were equipped to provide practical, shared cooking spaces that are functional, robust and welcoming. These improvements form part of a wider commitment to delivering homes that are clean, comfortable and fit for purpose.
